Xenos Walkthrough
Xenos is a fighting game that takes place in the year 2115 that puts you in control of a high-tech battle suit. Xenos features arcade-style action, outstanding audio, and anime-influenced graphics. This action game seems to take a lot of inspiration from the Gundam franchise of manga and anime.
The objective of Xenos is to save humanity from the evil Dr. Crenson. In order to do this, you must destroy all of the Xenos generators on each level. Along the way, you will have to defeat legions of hostile robots that are out to stop you. Defeating all robots in an area deactivates the barriers and allows you to progress to the generators. Once all generators on a level are destroyed, you can advance to the next stage of this fighting game.
It should be noted that Xenos is controlled entirely by the keyboard. The mouse is not used at all in this action game; not even in the menus! You will have to use the arrow keys (or WASD keys) to make your selection and the spacebar to confirm your choice. It should also be noted that the spacebar is used to advance the cutscenes of the game, such as the messages given in the tutorial. I don't advise you to rapidly skip through the tutorial if this is your first time playing Xenos, however.
The first two weapons that you are given in Xenos are the X-Saber and the Darth Maul-esque S-Hurricane, but you will find more weapons to add to your arsenal as you progress. To perform a melee attack, simply bump into an enemy. To perform a special attack, press the spacebar when the weapon icon at the bottom of the screen is lit up. Killing enemies increases your Xenos bar (to the right of your health bar at the top of the screen), which in turn increases your weapon's power. The more Xenos power you have, the more powerful your weapons will be. Using special attacks drains your Xenos bar, so it is good to avoid using special attacks unless you are in a pinch; retaining the extra striking power is a better investment of energy in most cases. Each weapon has its own unique special attack in this fighting game, so experiment to find out what works best in various situations.
The developers of Xenos did a great job putting this action game together. If you are a fan of anime-inspired games or just a fan of high-paced, blood-pumping action, then you won't want to miss Xenos!
