Super Smash Flash Walkthrough
Super Smash Flash is a Flash game based on the popular Nintendo franchise, Super Smash Bros.. This fighting game features sprite graphics, an excellent control scheme, and twenty-eight characters, including Nintendo characters, Sega characters, Capcom characters, and original characters.
When you first start Super Smash Flash, you have have to create a profile for local storage. Your achievements, records, progress, and unlocked characters will be saved under this profile, so you will be able to access them the next time that you play.
Super Smash Flash plays just like the fighting games of the Super Smash Bros. series. There are three main modes of gameplay: Regular Match, Stadium, and Training. Regular Match is the primary mode of the game and has sub-modes of Classic, where you fight in one-on-one battles against enemies and Adventure where you must fight through stages of classic video games such as Super Mario World. Stadium Mode features the sub-modes of Target Test, which is the classic "Break the Targets" minigame, and Multi-Man Melee, which pits you against a gauntlet of adversaries. Training mode allows you to practice the controls and the various moves of this fighting game's numerous characters. VS. Mode is the two-player segment of this fighting game and pits human players in a one-on-one battle against each other.
The menus of Super Smash Flash are interacted with by using the mouse while the actual gameplay is controlled by the keyboard. On the character select screen, click and drag your icon to select a character, then click the word "Go!" to proceed to the match. The arrow keys are used to move your character, the O key is used to jump, and the P key is used to perform attacks. In VS. Mode, the second player uses the WASD keys to move, the G key to jump, and the F key to attack.
The characters in this fighting game are pretty well-balanced, so pick the one that best suites your play style. I prefer using Megaman (actually, the sprites used for this character come from mega Man X rather than the original Mega Man) due to his powerful projectile attacks. I advise you to play a few rounds of Training to get used to the different moves that the characters have to offer so that you can make an educated decision.
Super Smash Flash may not have the three-dimensional graphics of the actual Super Smash Bros. games, but it does an excellent job in capturing its style of gameplay. Fans of the original series may also recognize the music used in this fighting game!
