Rattatak Walkthrough
Rattatak is a fighting game based on the animated mini-series, Star Wars: Clone Wars (not to be confused with the newer CGI series, Star Wars: The Clone Wars). This fighting game features well-drawn graphics, simple controls, and gameplay aimed at a younger audience.
In Rattatak, you portray the young Anakin Skywalker in a one-on-one battle against the Sith warrior, Asajj Ventress. You must defeat Ventress in a best two-out-of-three match, similar to classic fighting games such as Street Fighter II or Mortal Kombat. There is only one fight present in the game. If you win two rounds against Ventress, then you will beat the game.
Rattatak uses a simple keyboard control scheme. The left and right arrow keys move Anakin, and the up key causes him to jump. The down arrow key blocks attacks. Press the Z key to perform a standard lightsaber swing. The X key performs a spinning jump attack. Finally, the C key performs a force push when your force meter is full. The only controls that are actually necessary in this fighting game are blocking (down arrow key) and basic attacks (Z key) as you can actually beat the game standing in one position. Force push is especially useless. For better or worse, Anakin has not turned to the Dark Side yet, so he cannot employ more useful techniques such as Force grip or Force lightning.
Rattatak was designed for a younger audience and it shows. As stated above, it is possible to stand still and use pure attrition to win the game. Ventress does not put up a real challenge, so fighting game fanatics will not be too impressed by this game. Players that like to pull off elaborate combos will also be disappointed since attacks are stiff and cannot chain together.
Rattatak has excellent graphics, but its gameplay is a bit lacking, so it may not appeal to fighting game fanatics. Young gamers and hardcore Star Wars geeks that just have to play every Star Wars game may be entertained by Rattatak, but older gamers should steer clear of this one.
