Mario Combat Deluxe Walkthrough
Mario Combat Deluxe is the sequel to the fighting game, Mario Combat. Mario Combat Deluxe features an improved game engine, a modified control scheme, and vector graphics rather than sprites ripped from Super Mario games.
Your objective in Mario Combat Deluxe is once again to lay the smackdown on Bowser's shelled behind. Along the way, you will have to contend with Koopa Troopas, evil versions of Toad, and more. You have unlimited lives in this fighting game, and if you are killed, half of your score will be deducted and you will have to restart the current level.
Mario Combat Deluxe uses a modified version of the control scheme used in the first Mario Combat. The arrow keys are used to move and the A key is used to jump. The A key can be pressed again at the top of a vertical jump to double jump. Like in its predecessor, jumping on enemies does not deal damage to them in this fighting game. To deal damage, you will have to use the S key to perform basic attacks and the D key to perform special attacks. The A key can be tapped repeatedly to perform combos. Use the arrow keys in conjunction with the S or D keys to perform varied attacks. Experiment with attacks and combos to pummel your adversaries!
Like in the first Mario Combat, you can speed through levels, ignoring enemies until you get to Bowser in Mario Combat Deluxe. If you want to earn a high score, on the other hand, you will have to take your time and defeat enemies on each stage. Perform combos on enemies to maximize your score, and avoid dying if you want to keep your points. Unfortunately, your health is not regenerated between stages, so you will have to be a beat 'em up master (or maybe even extremely lucky) if you want to keep all of your points until the end of the game!
Mario Combat Deluxe is an improvement over its predecessor, but it still suffers from brief gameplay. If you are looking for a short fighting game with lots of action, then you will enjoy Mario Combat Deluxe; if you are looking for a more complex, lengthy gameplay experience, however, then this is not the game for you.
