Drastic Plastic Walkthrough
Drastic Plastic is a Flash game based on the popular toy, Rock ' Em Sock 'Em Robots. This boxing game features excellent graphics, simple controls, and a variety of upgrades.
The goal of Drastic Plastic is to defeat your opponent in a one-on-one boxing match. Matches are best two out of three. Unlike the real toy that this fighting game is based on, it takes more than a single knockout punch to win, you will have to batter your opponent until their lifebar is gone and retreat from your opponent's attacks to keep your health level up. Your progress is saved upon the completion of each match, so you can continue your robot boxing career the next time that you play.
Drastic Plastic uses a simple set of keyboard controls. The left and right arrow keys are used to attack and the down arrow key is used to retreat and avoid attacks from your opponent. Alternatively, you may use the corresponding WASD keys. The spacebar may also be used to retreat. It may help to use the A key to perform left punches and the right arrow key to perform right punches since using both hands allows for quicker attacks. It isn't healthy for your fingers (or the keyboard itself) to slam keys, but it really can help in this fighting game if you want to overwhelm your opponent with a flurry of punches.
Each fight that you win in Drastic Plastic earns money. This money can be used to upgrade your robot to make it a better contender in the ring. It is a good idea to upgrade your robot's head first to improve its stamina and increase its resilience. Upgrading the hands next is a good idea to increase the amount of damage inflicted upon your enemies. The body is another good upgrade since it increases your robot's health, but it is quite expensive and will have to wait until later in the course of the fighting game when you can afford it. If you prefer to use a "stick and move" style of boxing rather than a power style, then you should upgrade your robot's legs.
Drastic Plastic is a boxing game that combines the medium of Flash gaming with the memories of childhood. Rather than digging that dusty Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots set out of the attic, have a go at Drastic Plastic!
