Bloody Blades Walkthrough
Bloody Blades is a high-paced ninja game. This fighting game features great graphics and animation, audio that really gets you into the game, and controls that are easy to pick up.
The goal of Bloody Blades is to kill as many hostile ninjas as possible before you are killed. Unlike other similar games, you are not restricted to the ground or an arena in this fighting game, instead, jump from platform to platform and fly in the air! Not only will you have to avoid enemy ninjas, but you will also have to avoid falling to the bottom of the stage. If you fall, you will have a huge chunk of your life lost. When you health (indicated by the red bar in the lower-right corner of the screen) is completely depleted, the game will end.
The keyboard is used to control Bloody Blades. Use the arrow keys to move your character. The A key is used to perform basic sword attacks, but may be held to charge a projectile attack at the expense of some mana (indicated by the blue bar beneath the health bar). The S key may be held to increase your speed (once again at the cost of mana), which is useful for getting out of perilous situations. Finally, the D key is used to block enemy attacks.
In some ways, Bloody Blades plays more like a horizontal shooter game than a true fighting game. Quick reflexes are more important than combinations in this game. It is not necessary to defeat every enemy that you encounter; dodging them can work just as well (you will have to kill enemies if you want to attain a high score, however, since you do not earn points based on distance traveled). Bursts of speed (using the S key) may help you to avoid some enemies, but this costs mana. Be sure to pick up glowing blue orbs and red orbs to replenish lost mana and health respectively.
Bloody Blades is a fighting game like no other that may appeal to SHMUP fans due to its style of gameplay. I was able to score just over nine thousand points. See if you can do better in Bloody Blades!
