If you don't have a computer or console capable of running Batman: Arkham City, then do not fret, you can still play as the Caped Crusader in Batman in Crime Wave! Batman in Crime Wave is a Shockwave action game featuring isometric graphics, keyboard controls, and challenging gameplay.

In Batman in Crime Wave, you play as Batman and are tasked with stopping the Joker and his goons. Levels are completed by completing objectives such as defeating goons, destroying objects, and more. The objectives for the current level are displayed at the bottom of the screen. When all objectives have been completed, you will advance to the next level. The game ends after you have brought the Joker to justice or if your health is depleted. Unfortunately, there are no continues in this fighting game, so if you lose, you will have to start from the very beginning.

Batman in Crime Wave uses the keyboard as its control device. Press the arrow keys to move Batman in the corresponding direction. The spacebar shoots your currently-selected weapon. The shift key is used to switch between weapons. You have unlimited ammunition in this fighting game, so feel free to spam your favorite weapon. My personal favorite is the green gas grenade. It is short-ranged, but can easily defeat groups of enemies clustered together. It is also much easier to hit enemies with it than it is to hit them with the Batarang.

Individual levels are not very difficult in Batman in Crime Wave. What makes this fighting game difficult is running the gauntlet of multiple levels. Batman does not heal between levels, so minor damage can add up. I did not find any health powerups in three levels, so I must assume that they are not present in the game, or they are very rare if they do appear later. Sine you cannot replenish health, you will have to conserve it. This may seem obvious, but you must try your hardest to avoid getting hit by enemies!

Batman in Crime Wave may not be Arkham City, but if you crave a game staring the Caped Crusader, it can help to quell your appetite. Put an end to the Joker's reign of madness and make Gotham safe again in this exciting fighting game!
