Armed with Wings 2 is the sequel to the fighting game, Armed with Wings. Armed with Wings 2 continues the story of the series and features superior graphics, a greater range of attacks, and gameplay that focuses more on action rather than solving puzzles. If you are a fan of classic games, you may also notice that the music on the menu screen is a remix of the Dark World theme from Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.

Armed with Wings 2 continues the story from where the first Armed with Wings left off, so if you wish to experience the storyline in chronological order, I advise you to finish the first Armed with Wings before you begin this action game. Unlike its predecessor, you can choose the difficulty level that you wish to play on in this game. I advise new players to play on the easy difficulty level. You can also save your progress so you do not have to complete the game in one sitting. Survival Mode is not available in this version of the fighting game.

Like the first Armed with Wings, Armed with Wings 2 uses the keyboard as its control device. The arrow keys are used to move. When jumping, you can hold the up arrow key to charge a higher jump. The Z, X, and C keys perform regular punches, kicks, and sword attacks respectively. The A key grabs, the S key throws projectiles, and the D key performs special actions based on the sword that you are using. The attacks performed by the A, S, and D keys require energy to execute. Energy is restored over time. Unlike the first Armed with Wings, you do not have an eagle to assist you (or an extra set of controls to learn) in this fighting game.

Armed with Wings 2 has a greater focus on action rather than the puzzle-oriented gameplay of its predecessor. This means that you will often be facing groups of enemies head-on since you do not have an eagle to distract them! To make up for this, you have a greater range of attacks in this fighting game. Tap attack buttons rapidly to execute combos against enemies. It may also help to throw a few projectiles at enemies before closing to melee combat, but remember to keep an eye on your energy bar.

Armed with Wings 2 is a superb action game and outstanding sequel to its predecessor. If you enjoyed the first Armed with Wings or if you are a fan of action-packed fighting games, then you will have a blast playing Armed with Wings 2!
